Chantelle A. Porter graduated from The Ohio State University in 2003 and from DePaul University College of Law in 2006. She was admitted to practice law in 2006. While at law school, she received a Family Law Certificate and was awarded the Dean's Scholarship, the Public Interest Law Association Grant - Judge Jeffrey Coman Designation, and the Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center Grant.

Ms. Porter is a Partner at the law firm of A. Traub & Associates, where she represents clients in cases involving divorce, family law, domestic violence and orders of protection, DCFS investigations, civil litigation defense, and juvenile criminal defense. She also serves in the 18th Judicial Circuit as a court-approved guardian ad litem and as a Juvenile Conflict Attorney.

Ms. Porter formerly served as supervisor of Juvenile Division of the DuPage County Public Defender's Office. During this time, she represented juveniles in criminal cases, and she assisted both parents and children in matters involving neglect, abuse, and dependency. She previously served in the Cook County Public Guardian's Office, representing juveniles both as an attorney and as a guardian ad litem in cases involving dependency, neglect, and abuse. Chantelle’s civic engagement includes membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the DuPage County branch of the NAACP.

Ms. Porter has served as a speaker in Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Speaker presentations, including:

  • DuPage County Bar Association "Basic Skill Seminar" presenting on Juvenile Law
  • DuPage County Bar Association Child Advocacy Seminar on "Ethical Issues When Representing Children"
  • DuPage County Bar Association Family Law Section "Juvenile Court Procedures: Basics for the Family Law Practitioner".

Ms. Porter is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association (DCBA), and she has served on the Board of Directors and on the Board of the DuPage County Bar Foundation, as the Chair of the New Lawyer's Committee and Law Day Committee, as a member of the Program Planning Committee, and as a participant in Judges' Night. She is also a Past President of the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers and has served as as a member of the Robert E. Jones Chapter of the American Inns of Court, the Board of Governors for the Illinois State Bar Association, and the DuPage County Family Violence Coordinating Council. She became a member of the Illinois Children's Task Force in 2019.
